Taste the Mission

Mission tourYour Epicurean Concierge makes a regular beeline to San Francisco's Mission District, where the traditional and often lusty Latino and South American flavors are a part of a changing community of various background and cultures. Tours include a mouth-watering assortment of tastings and samples both savory and sweet. It's a world of tacos and maple bacon donuts; salsa (the sauce, not the dance), freshly made ice cream and savory pies. Guests will enjoy learning in person the stories of Mission culinary artists and shop keepers, with insights into the area's history and beautiful, world famous murals.

Bring your appetite and a bottle of water. Along the way, participants will get to taste some of the following local artisan edibles (subject to change):
- Omnivore Books, which is a dream come true for cooks and food lovers. Omnivore has a vast selection of vintage and current titles, and hosts food events throughout the year. Goodies from La CochinaWhile we are at Omnivore Books, we will also taste some delicacies:
- La Cocina's Claire Squares fresh natural snacks and sips of Jamu, a unique and tasty Indonesian health and energy drink made by Sajen. La Cocina is a Mission-based business incubator program for food entrepreneurs.
Humphry Slocombe- Handmade tartlet from Mission Pie and hand held savory pie delivered by Bike Basket Pies.
- We'll also try some of Humphry Slocombe's award winning (and one of a kind) ice cream as well as a maple bacon donut from Dynamo Donuts. Now who says savory can't meet sweet?
- Mexican delicacies from El Farolito (taco), La Palma Foods, (huarache and fresh salsa) and La Victoria (pan dulce)
- Mini cupcakes from Mission Minis, baked daily. Flavors may include Ruby Red Velvet, Cinnamon Horchata, Aztec Chocolate and more.
